1. What can I store in my storage unit?
You can store almost anything from household contents, files, boxes, stock and commercial items, tools, sports equipment to vehicles. We also offer outdoor vehicle storage. Do not store any goods that are illegal, stolen, environmentally harmful, inflammable, explosive, toxic, hazardous (ie firearms), perishable (ie food/food products), will attract vermin or that are a risk to the property of any person ie chemicals, combustible liquids and gases, chlorine, acid, paint, petrol and anything that can leak.
2. What security measures do you have in place?
We have placed great importance on ensuring that our storage facility in Pukekohe is highly secure to ensure all items stored are as safe as possible. Security measures in place at our Pukekohe site include electric perimeter fences, surveillance cameras, individually alarmed units and monitored gate entry. Our security system monitors all entries and exits to the compound via swipe cards and surveillance camera
3. What unit sizes do you have?
We have an assortment of unit sizes at our Pukekohe site ranging from smallest of 1.5m x 3m to largest 6m x 3m. Please refer to the price list for all the sizes available. We also offer outdoor vehicle storage.
4. How do I insure my goods when they are stored with you?
Insurance of your belongings remains your own responsibility for the duration of time they are stored at Counties Storage in Pukekohe. If you have existing contents insurance we recommend that you contact your insurance company and advise them that either all or part of the contents are being placed in storage with us and they will be able to assist.
5. Are bookings required for storage units?
We recommend that you contact us in advance to book a unit to ensure the size that you require is available when you need it.
6. What are your hours of operation?
Our hours of operation are 7m to 8pm, 7 days a week. Tenants have secure gate access to our Pukekohe site available during these hours.
7. Is there a minimum or maximum rental term?
There is no limit on how long you can rent a unit for at our Pukekohe storage facility, however the minimum rental term is one month.
8. Do I need to sign a rental agreement?
Yes there is a one page rental agreement which must be completed and signed at the commencement of your rental term.
9. What are the initial costs?
Upon renting a unit you must pay the first amount of rent due in advance as well as a $30 bond, which is fully refundable upon vacating the unit provided the terms of storage agreement have been met (including the return of your swipe card). All rental payments thereafter are to be paid in advance. Should you need a padlock for your unit you can purchase one from our office.
10. What are my payment options?
We accept either weekly or monthly rental payments. On occasion we may have promotions running such as discounts on the pre-payment of terms greater than 6 months. Payment methods include bank AP, EFTPOS, as well as cash and bank deposits. Any rental that is more than 14 days overdue may incur a 10% late penalty.
11. How do I access my unit?
You will be issued with an individual swipe card which allows you to enter our Pukekohe storage facility and access your unit as often as you wish during our hours of operation (7am to 8pm, 7 days a week). Your card de-activates the alarm on your individual unit. Upon using your card to depart the premises the alarm for your unit is re-activated.
12. What do I do when I wish to vacate my storage unit?
When you no longer require your unit please provide us with 14 days written notice, in accordance with the terms of the storage agreement. After the initial minimum rental term of 1 month any unused rent that has been paid in advance will be refunded directly to your bank account upon vacating the unit.
